Freshman Friday: Kelly kicks his way through high school

May 6, 2016

Every Friday, Highlander Publications chooses a freshman to be featured in “Freshman Friday,” giving the student population the opportunity to get to know its freshman class. Read below to learn about this week’s freshman, Max Kelly.

Do you play any sports?

I play varsity soccer for Homestead and club soccer for North Shore United.

What is your favorite part about playing on the HHS team?

My favorite part is getting to meet so many new people, especially upperclassmen, and getting to play the game with all of these new teammates.

How long have you been playing soccer?

I think I started officially playing when I was five, but I loved playing with my brother before then.

How many siblings do you have?

Just one, my brother, Adam. He graduated last year.

Do you have any pets?

I have one dog, an Australian Shepherd mix named Chester.

If you could be a sandwich, what type would you be?

I would probably be a peanut butter and banana just because it is such a good mix of flavors.

If you could fill an empty pool with anything, what would it be?

I would definitely fill it with Jello because it would be so easy to dive in and eat.

What has been your favorite part of high school so far?

My favorite part has been meeting so many new friends and awesome teachers, along with playing soccer just because it was such a fun season.

What are you looking forward to in your next three years at Homestead?

I am really looking forward to meeting even more new people and going to more sports games to cheer on the various teams from the student section. So, basically getting more involved in all of the activities outside of school.
