Freshman Friday: Wilson dances through high school

Every Friday, Highlander Publications chooses a freshman to be featured in “Freshman Friday,” giving the student population the opportunity to get to know its freshman class. Read below to learn about this week’s freshman, Emmery Wilson.

Do you play any sports?

Yes, I play lacrosse for Homestead. This is my first year playing lacrosse. I am also on the dance team.

What is your favorite thing about being on the lacrosse team?

I love how nice everyone on the team is. They are all so supportive and we have really great coaches.

What is your favorite thing about being on the dance team?

I love performing and I love all of our team activities. We really become a family over the course of our season.

How long have you been dancing?

I have been dancing since I was three. I currently dance at Bella Via and I love it there. I have the greatest teachers and friends there.

Do you have any siblings?

Yes, I have a twin brother named Garrett, an older brother named Wyatt and an older sister named Aubrey.

Do you have any pets?

Yes, I have two cats named Kitty Wampus and Miss Priss and a bunny named Scarlett O’Hare (like Gone with the Wind).

If you were a sandwich, what type would you be?

Probably a Nutella sandwich, mainly because I just really like Nutella.

If you could fill an empty pool with anything what would it be?

I would fill it with iTunes gift cards because I love listening to music.

What has been your favorite part of high school so far?

I really enjoy all of my teachers and I like being a part of a bigger school. I also like how my classes have changed twice this year.

What are you looking forward to most in the next three years at HHS?

I am looking forward to growing in my sports and academics and I am very excited to see what I am capable of.
