Freshman Friday: Hildebrand rows through high school

June 3, 2016

Every Friday, Highlander Publications chooses a freshman to be featured in “Freshman Friday,” giving the student population the opportunity to get to know its freshman class. Read below to learn about this week’s freshman, Gabby Hildebrand.

Do you play any sports?

Yes, I row. I have been rowing for the Milwaukee Rowing Club since last fall.

What is your favorite thing about rowing?

My favorite part is that it is a team effort and if everyone does their best, their hard work will pay off.

Do you have any siblings?

I have two brothers; Kristopher who is 18 and Kevin who is 12.

If you were a sandwich, which type would you be?

I would be an ice cream sandwich on the outside with raw fish on the inside because then I would look delicious, but no one would eat me which would make it possible for me to stay alive.

If you could fill an empty pool with anything, what would it be?

I would fill it with banana cream pie so that I could eat all of it.

What has been your favorite part of high school so far?

My favorite part has been the football games because you get to be with people before the games, and when you get there you can scream so much that you lose your voice so you don’t have to talk to anyone the next day, which pretty much eliminates most opportunities for getting in trouble.

What are you looking forward to about your next three years at Homestead?

I am really looking forward to growing relationship with my friends and getting to know other people better.
