Drew Bosley, sophomore, took second place at the meet. Bosley ran at the state meet last year and greatly improved his time. “The team worked hard and trained for nine months just to run this race and all the hard work paid off. I am so proud of my teammates,” Bosley said.

The boys cross country team placed fifth in the state at the state tournament held at the Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids on Saturday, Oct. 29. The boys put on a stellar performance, clenching several individual places and medals, along with the fifth place title. Individually, Drew Bosley, sophomore, took second place with a time of 15:38.76.

“The team worked hard and trained for 9 months just to run this race and all the hard work paid off. I am so proud of my teammates,” Bosley said.

Thomas Miller, senior, took fifteenth and Noah Cummisford, senior, took 66th. There were also placements in the top 189 from Cooper Hunt, Messi Elgin, Jack Pfeifer, juniors, and Kai Newman, sophomore.

“We performed really well under the pressure,”  Pfeifer said.

All in all, the team performed very well and accomplished their goal of placing at state.

“At the beginning of the season, our goal was to place in the top five at state. We all worked so hard all year to get to that goal and everybody ran out of their minds the day of state to get the fifth place finish. We couldn’t have done it without everyone working hard all summer,” Newman said. “It was so worth it.”
