Adapting to a new place

“I moved here in August from North Carolina because of my dad’s job. Homestead is much bigger than my old school. The worst part about moving here has been just being unfamiliar with places and people. The best part has been making new friends. My friends and I play video games in our free time. However, Mequon itself is worse than what I expected it to be. There’s not much to do here in the town itself, but it is close to a lot of other cool things. My experience living here has been okay. It hasn’t been as  great as I imagined it would be, but it could be a lot worse. Since moving here, I have joined the basketball team. The best part about playing the sport is being with my teammates and getting buckets. I plan on playing next year. Playing basketball in college is the ultimate plan” (Leo Garcia, junior).
