Varsity boys basketball falls to Cedarburg

The boys varsity basketball team incurred a tough loss against the the Cedarburg Bulldogs on Friday, Jan. 20. The Bulldogs beat the Highlander’s 66-49.

Despite the loss, the boys are looking to improve their skills in time for future games.

“It was a tough loss but it gives a new perspective as to what we need to work on,” Greg Foster (#5), junior guard, said.

Although the team’s current record is 5-7, the team is hoping to have a successful showing in the playoffs in February.

“We are not playing as good as we can as a team. We feel like we are one of the best teams in the conference so any game we lose, it obviously hurts. Good thing is we have another opportunity against them later in the season, “Connor Duggan (#1), junior guard, said.

By adjusting and fitting to the newer team dynamic, the team remains hopeful for the rest of the season.

“Both teams played really hard and we ended up missing some shots in really pivotal moments. But we are not going to dwell on this loss. The game is over, and all we can do is improve from what we have and try to get better and better everyday,” Adam Sadoff (#35), junior center, said.
