Boys hockey took on rival Cedarburg last Tuesday and with a slow start came out with a 3-0 loss. The team bounced back from a devastating loss with a 5-0 win against WNS on Friday in its last conference game of the conference tournament and season. The team shares the conference title with Cedarburg this season, which is the first season Homestead has won conference in three years.

“We played really well and overall worked hard, with the exception of the Cedarburg game. Personally, I think it’s a stepping stone for the program regardless if we share the title or win it outright,” Sean Driscoll, junior, said. The team looks to keep moving forward with a win on Senior night Thursday against Marquette.

The boys basketball team came out victorious in its conference matchup with Milwaukee Lutheran last Tuesday 63-52. However, the team was beaten down by conference rival and competitor Germantown 65-58 last Friday. The Lakeshore Lightning came out strong last week recording two shutout wins. The team rolled over Brookfield 4-0 on Tuesday and beat down Rock County in a very close 1-0 game on Saturday. “We learned a lot from both of our games. We really stepped up for our Saturday game. It was a great feeling to be able to beat a team we had lost to twice this season,” Alex Burns, junior, said. The team looks to keep going with a game at home against Appleton United on Saturday.

The girls basketball team is coming off of a rough outing against Germantown last Friday losing by a score of 71-58. It is always tough losing to Germantown but the team looks to rebound with a non-conference game against Oconomowoc on Tuesday and a conference game at Whitefish Bay on Friday.
