Why Puppy Bowl XII beats Super Bowl 50
February 9, 2016
While most of America was watching the Panthers play the Broncos this Sunday, I tuned into Animal Planet to watch a different matchup: the Puppy Bowl. The show features all different breeds of puppies divided into two teams: team Ruff, in green, and team Fluff, in yellow. To score a touchdown, the puppy must carry a toy into either end zone. Here are 10 reasons why watching the Puppy Bowl is a better way to spend Super Bowl Sunday.
1) The Puppy Bowl ended with a score higher than the Super Bowl. Team Ruff won over team Fluff with a 70-44 victory.
2) Team Ruff´s Star won MVP of the game. Star scored a whopping two touchdowns in a row running from one end zone directly to the other. Unlike the Carolina Panthers’ Cam Newton, team Fluff´s Aria was not seen pouting after her devastating loss. Rather, she was seen giving multiple interviews to members of the press.
3) One of the fans, a tortoise, tried to streak across the field. Because of his slow pace, however, the referee caught up to him and decided to yell at him to hurry it up.
4) Puppy Bowl XII also featured a kiss cam presented by Dairy Queen. Viewers could send in a video of them sharing a kiss or a hug with their favorite pet whether it be a cat or a dog.
5) The halftime show featured a group of cats climbing on a miniature version of San Francisco, where Super Bowl XXXI was hosted. It was a CATastrophic event.
6) The chicken cheerleaders squawked loud and proud cheering for team Ruff and team Fluff. They didn’t even need poms–they were fluffy enough.
7) The Puppy Bowl even had its own deflate-gate. The referee scolded the puppies for having manipulated the equipment just like the Patriots.
8) Stanley, the skunk, decided that that his fellow referee needed a little bit of back up after the game got out of hand. Luckily, no one was sprayed, but Stanley did make sure that the puppies did not deflate any other footballs.
9) The Puppy Bowl is better than the Super Bowl because of the puppies themselves. They are just so godDOG cute.
10) The Puppy Bowl raises awareness for homeless dogs and dogs without permanent residences. All of the puppies featured in the Puppy Bowl themselves are just some of the homeless dogs and puppies that can be adopted.
