“I play volleyball, and I horseback ride too. I play tennis too. I started horseback riding in first grade. I started because my mom won a horseback riding lesson at an auction. I stuck with it because it was so fun and it got my heart racing. One time, I was galloping my horse through a body of water and he threw me off and I went flying into the water. I didn’t get mad, I just went with it. I decided to swim with the fish.

I started volleyball in fifth grade. I started because just about everyone at Lumen Christi was trying it out too. I stuck with it because I realized I wasn’t too bad at it. The best part of volleyball is getting a kill. A kill is when you hit the ball and it goes straight down. It’s basically just a hard hit that nobody can get to. One time, I slammed this girl in the face. I hit the ball at her. She couldn’t pass it because it was too high. She couldn’t set it because it was too low.” (Grace Beauchamp, junior)
