Things left in England
“I cut off my middle finger in England one time. I was six months old and it was my first time there. I stuck my finger out and it got cut in this door. So, my skin from, like, my knuckle down was ripped off. Then, my grandma started screaming. My mom came in and grabbed me and put my hand under cold water and screamed at my sister to get my dad. So, when my dad came in to see if they could reattach the skin to my finger, they ended up taking me to the doctor. The doctor said because I was so young, my skin would grow back.
I used to go every summer to London. That’s where all my dad’s family is from. He’s the only one who actually lives in America. We aren’t going as often anymore because all of us kids are growing up and it’s really difficult to coordinate all of our schedules to be able to go all together. I don’t ever see myself living in London because the lifestyle there is way too different and the schooling is way too different, too. I could see myself visiting every year, but never actually settling down there.” (Alex Reynolds, sophomore)
