Live to run
“I do track for several reasons. One is that there is a lot of support from people who push you to do your best in almost everything that you do. Another is the satisfaction that comes when you get a better time or a higher height. There really isn’t a ‘great’ part to running itself, but it has to be done in order to succeed and do well. I do hurdles because I have been doing them since eighth grade and they were a very fun race to compete in. Hurdles aren’t like normal running on a flat surface; they also make you stand out in the crowd since a lot of people believe that they wouldn’t be good at them. Hurdles do require extra training since you have to work on your sprinting, endurance and form. I do high jump since it’s an activity that is just fun to do, and I have met many great friends through it.” (Charlie Mortensen, junior)
