I tried saying hi to everyone in the hall, and it was a complete disaster.

I have always found it funny how seriously kids take walking in the hallway. I mean, their faces are as serious as a hawk hunting its prey. As an incoming freshman, upperclassmen told me, “Don’t smile in the hallway, it’s embarrassing, and kids will make fun of you.” Now that I have reached my senior year and have done the whole angsty teenager thing for three years, it’s time to shake things up.

My main question from this little experiment is why kids will acknowledge me and then look away? You see me yelling at you, might as well go along with it. Why is saying hi to some crazy girl in the hallway a big deal? Sure, I am a senior (and kinda cute) and maybe that scares some people, but there is no awful consequence that can arise after saying hello to me. So, to the few brave souls who said hello back to me, I applaud you because you have courage and guts. Watch the video to view my tragic experiment trying to make new friends in the hallway.
