May 15, 2015

Every Friday, Highlander Publications chooses a freshman to be featured in “Freshman Friday,” giving the student population the opportunity to get to know its freshman class. Read below to learn about this week’s freshman, Ayaan Jahangir.

What has been your favorite aspect of Homestead during your first year here?
My favorite aspect this year was meeting new people.

Where is your favorite place you have visited and why?
My favorite place is France because I enjoyed learning about the different culture.

Favorite class and teacher at Homestead? Why?
My favorite class was Freshman P.E. and my favorite teacher is Mrs. Rauch.

Who do you look up to? Why?
My parents because they could take care of three crazy kids and didn’t go crazy themselves.

What sports do you play in and out of high school? Do you have a favorite? Why do you play?
I played soccer for the school and for a club. Soccer is my favorite sport mainly because I’ve been playing it since I was four years old. I play because I enjoy running and having control with my feet.

What was the biggest surprise of high school?
Not having my friends in every class.

What do you look forward to in your next year at Homestead?
I’m looking forward to meeting more people and playing soccer.

What would you do if you won the lottery?
I would build an amusement park, I would buy a nice house and I would travel the world.

If you could give next year’s freshman class one piece of advice, what would it be and why?
Don’t procrastinate, don’t be afraid to ask question and meet new people.
