Freshman Friday: Lindsey Schimpf marches through freshman year
Every Friday, Highlander Publications chooses a freshman to be featured in “Freshman Friday,” giving the student population the opportunity to get to know its freshman class. Read below to learn about this week’s freshman, Lindsey Schimpf.
Do you play any sports?
I play hockey and tennis, and this spring, I will be playing lacrosse.
Are you involved in any activities besides athletics?
Yes. I’m in band, Students Helping Impact Foster Teens (SHIFT), Spanish Club, Champions and Student Council.
How many siblings do you have?
I have two siblings: Sarah, a freshman in college, and Nathan, a junior.
What has been your favorite part of high school so far?
My favorite part of high school is having only five classes each day.
What are you looking forward to the most during high school?
I’m looking forward to seeing a huge student section at our Lakeshore Lightning games. Our next home game is Dec. 19, and everyone should come.
Who is your role model and why?
My grandma is since she’s the hardest-working person I’ve met and puts others before herself.
If you could be a sandwich, what kind would you be?
That’s tough, but I would definitely be a Jimmy John’s BLT meal without tomatoes and with provolone on the most perfectly baked bread that you’ve ever tasted, all with a huge pickle on the side. Yum.
