“I would say the most memorable experience of my life happened when I was a freshman in college. It was related to a song. The song was ‘Close to the Edge’ by Yes. The interpretation of that song changed the direction of my life.

A more concrete memorable moment is being present at my father’s side as he died. It was a very powerful, beautiful and sacred moment.

I’m a teacher in this setting now because of the experiences I had in former education with some remarkable human beings who inspired and challenged me as well as showed me how to become a curious human. And so I hope my small contribution in people’s lives is to teach that we need to learn in the academic setting but the most important learning goes beyond the walls of schools.

My professional Mission Statement: A curiosity about the mysteries of life and the daily search for understanding animate my mission as a high school teacher of English. I endeavor to prompt, to prod and to promote personal growth in my students. As we strive to create a learning environment that cultivates mutual respect, compassionate awareness and social responsibility. Equipped with developing skills in critical thinking, self-reflection and effective communication, we learn together and teach each other how to become positive, creative citizens of the planet.” (Mr. Robert Wells, English teacher)
