Freshman Friday: Plamann skis through high school

March 11, 2016

Every Friday, Highlander Publications chooses a freshman to be featured in “Freshman Friday,” giving the student population the opportunity to get to know its freshman class. Read below to learn about this week’s freshman, Molly Plamann.

What sports do you play?
I do cross country and ski.

What do you like about skiing?
I like skiing because it is super fun to go to new places to ski; every hill is so different.

What is your favorite place to ski?
I enjoy going to Granite Peak because it is really fun to go to there with friends. We can all go together on the six-person lift and the runs are super good. The snow is always perfect.

What do you like about cross country?
I like it because all of my friends are on the team and, even though the running is awful sometimes, we become like a big family and it’s great.

Do you have any siblings?
I have one sister named Pratima. She is a senior this year. We adopted her from India when I was in second grade.

Do you have any pets?
I have two cats named Emoji and Willie. Emoji got his name from the tear-off calendar emoji that has his birthday on it.

If you could be a sandwich, what type would you be?
I would actually be a salad since I don’t like sandwiches.

If you could fill an empty pool with anything, what would it be?
I would fill it with jello because that would be sick.

What has been your favorite part of high school so far?
I really liked being on the cross country team. I can’t wait for next season so that I can run more since I was injured most of this past season.

What are you looking forward to the most in the next three years of high school?
I am really looking forward to being on the yearbook staff since it is really fun and I love it.
