Bean-Boozled: teachers tempt fate

Bean-Boozled: a fun game for those looking to get their closest friends and family to regret being associated with them. So, we decided to play it with teachers at Homestead.

The game, created by Jelly Belly Candy Company, involves spinning a wheel and eating the color of bean that the spinner lands on. However, 10 of the flavors are ‘normal’, like peach or coconut, and the other 10, which share the same appearance as the good flavors, are bad flavors like canned dog food and barf.

The first edition was created in 2008 and included the flavors of skunk spray, rotten egg, earwax, booger, baby wipes, pencil shavings, toothpaste, vomit, moldy cheese, and black pepper. Since then, three other editions have been made, the fourth is set to release sometime this year. The newest installment of the game dropped the flavor of skunk spray and baby wipes, and added dead fish whose counter-bean is strawberry banana smoothie and spoiled milk to replace baby wipes.

Various teachers at Homestead graciously agreed to play a game against other teachers and students. For most teachers, this wasn’t the first time playing. At the beginning of the year during a staff meeting Principal Brett Bowers had teachers play as an exercise in risk taking.
