Freshman Friday: Beecher Gabriel aces his way into high school
Every Friday, Highlander Publications chooses a freshman to be featured in “Freshman Friday,” giving the student population the opportunity to get to know its freshman class. Read below to learn about this week’s freshman, Beecher Gabriel.
Do you play any sports?
“Yes. I run cross country, I play lacrosse and I ski. I also play tennis.”
Which of those sports is your favorite?
“I like skiing the best. I love the snow and like being outside when it’s cold. Skiing is also super fun.”
Do you have any siblings?
“I have three brothers: Tucker, Jack and Chase. We get along at times.”
Do you have any pets?
“I have a hamster named Randy.”
What are you most looking forward to in high school?
“I’m looking forward to finishing high school and then touring colleges. I want to go to Indiana University, because my brother goes there.”
What has been your favorite part of high school thus far?
“My favorite part has been getting to know new people and making new friends.”
What do you hope to accomplish while in high school?
“I hope to get a 4.0 GPA while in high school, meet new friends and just have fun.”
What’s a fun fact about you?
“I used to be ranked thirteenth in the state for tennis.”
How long have you been playing tennis?
“I’ve been playing about ten years. I’ve played almost all of my life. I hope to continue playing by joining Homestead’s boys tennis team this year.”
