Sean Reynolds and Adam Hobbs, seniors, lead Homestead’s student section every Friday night at varsity football games. Being a student section leader involves many duties: managing the student section Facebook page, organizing and announcing dress-up themes, leading cheers at the games, giving halftime speeches to the students and overall trying to improve the student body’s camaraderie. It’s a commitment that Reynolds and Hobbs decided to take on over the summer. Highlander Publications caught up with the two leaders and learned more about their roles and lives.

 

 1. What word would you use to describe one another?

Reynolds: Crazy.

Hobbs: Sarcastic

 2. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Reynolds: Leader of the student section

Hobbs: Male supermodel

3. Who’s your favorite Homestead teacher?

Reynolds: Chi

Hobbs: Mrs. Zortman

 4. What’s your favorite part of a Homestead football game?

Reynolds: After we score

Hobbs: Giving the halftime speech

 5. What’s your favorite dress-up theme for the football games?

Reynolds: Powder

Hobbs: America

 6. What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?

Reynolds: Blue moon

Hobbs: Cookies and cream

7. What are your middle names?

Reynolds: James

Hobbs: Joseph

8. Why is Homestead the best student section in the state?

Reynolds: We have the best themes

Hobbs: Homestead has the best spirit. Always has, always will

9. If you could travel to 3 countries which would they be?

Reynolds: Greece, Trinidad and Tobago, and Botswana

Hobbs: Greece, Italy, and Bora Bora

 10. What do you think the secret to a good high school experience is?

Reynolds: Be active. Try to participate in a lot of different activities and sports.

Hobbs. Don’t make enemies, try to be friendly towards everyone.

 11. Who is your best role model?

Reynolds: Marcus Mumford

Hobbs: Matthew McConaughey

12. What extracurricular activities/ sports do you participate in?

Reynolds: HHS Soccer, Best Buddies

Hobbs: HHS Hockey, Best Buddies, Relay for Life, National Honor Society

13. What’s the most important piece of advice you’d give freshmen?

Reynolds: Cheer loud at the games

Hobbs: Try hard academically during freshman year

14. What’s your all-time favorite movie?

Reynolds: Stepbrothers

Hobbs: Hot Rod

15. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Reynolds: Sushi

Hobbs: Rocky Rococo’s

16. What’s a fashion trend that you hate?

Reynolds: High-waisted pants and shorts are stupid.

Hobbs: I hate Hunter rain boots, girls shouldn’t be wearing those unless it’s raining.

17. If you could live in any decade, which would it be?

Reynolds: 1920’s

Hobbs: 1920’s

18. What’s your most embarrassing moment?

Reynolds: One time, my backpack broke and I had to carry around all my books in a paper bag.

Hobbs: I got thrown into a trash can and had hand sanitizer squeezed onto my head.

19. If you were stranded on an island and could choose one person and two items to have with you, what would they be?

Reynolds: A plane, gas, and Bear Grylls

Hobbs: A genie and Selena Gomez

20. If you could be a Disney princess, which one would you be? Why?

Reynolds: Sleeping Beauty, you get to sleep all day.

Hobbs: Ariel, being a mermaid is awesome.

21. Which celebrity do you think you are most like?

Reynolds: Alex Pettyfer

Reynolds: Wolf

24. If you couldn’t live in Wisconsin, where would you go?

Reynolds: London, England because it’s my hometown.

Hobbs: Canada, the hockey would be great.

25. What is one thing most of the student section wouldn’t know about you?

Reynolds: I was born in London, England

Hobbs: My tongue is very, very long

26. How do you become a student section leader?

Reynolds & Hobbs: Be the loudest in the stands for all three years. For us, people talked to us over the summer and said we should be the leaders this year. It was cool that people thought of us for the job.

27. Is your goal to continue the way things were last year or have different characteristics, goals, themes, etc?

Reynolds & Hobbs: We take a lot of the ideas that Brink and Schulz used, but we try to add more creative themes and make our student section united.
