Boys hockey pulls out a win against USM

The hockey team celebrates after winning a game. “I was so happy after we won. It was a really good game,” Cam Kranich, sophomore, said.

The boys hockey team defeated the University School of Milwaukee on Tuesday, Jan. 31. The game ended with a score of 4-3.

Within the first five seconds of the game, PJ Quale, junior, scored the first goal.

“The game started off great when PJ scored early and from there we just had to keep up the intensity,” Hank McKeegan, junior said.

After the first period, the score was 2-0, with USM scoring shortly after. During the second period, USM scored twice more, although Homestead still stayed strong and pulled out a win.

“Even after USM tied it up with us, we did a great job of not getting down on ourselves and battling back for the lead,” Will Buenz, senior said.

By the end of the game, Homestead was up and they pulled out a win with support from the student section.

“Overall it was a great game that the rest of the guys and I will remember for a long time,”Quale said.
