Drama teacher reinstated
Drama teacher Amelia Figg-Franzoi was reinstated to her full -time teaching position on Thursday, Nov. 17 following a 10-day suspension during an investigation surrounding an old student-led drama club ritual that dated past her tenure at the school.
In an email to students Principal Brett Bowers said, “Ms.Figg will return to her full range of professional duties, both as teacher and in her role as theatre director.”
Figg-Franzoi returned just one day before her One Act class was scheduled to go to their state competition on Friday, Nov. 17. She is currently in Whitewater with the class for competition.
In light of previous announcements about the postponement of the musical, there will be a meeting on Monday, Nov. 27 after school about the musical “Shrek.”
Frances Mackinnon is a senior and this is her fourth year on staff. She is so excited to be apart of this amazing team, and is pumped for what's in store...

Very sad to see something like this get blown way out of proportion. I feel very bad this great teacher

Great news but sad that Amelia was put through this silly nonsense. Apologies are due while MTSD reconsiders its future approach to “situations” with the goal of avoiding these type of embarrassing overreactions. Great teachers should be protected and cherished and not subjected to persecution from the whims of unreasonable parents and spineless administrators. The Maleki family stands by the great educators of the MTSD, without exception.

When will the harrassment of teachers end?
