Boys lacrosse wins season opener

March 21, 2018

This Tuesday, March 20 at Shorewood High School, the Homestead varsity boys lacrosse team took on Lakeshore, a merged team of Whitefish Bay and Shorewood.

The Highlanders started off the game strong with a four-point lead in the first quarter. The game took a turn as the second quarter began. Lakeshore exploded with four goals of their own, making the game tied going into half.

Coach Mike LaValle addressed the team at halftime. “One good quarter, one bad quarter. Now let’s go take the second half,” LaValle said. The Highlanders did just that as they reenacted their first quarter dominance scoring six more goals. The game ended with Homestead ahead 10-5.

With the win over Lakeshore in their season opener behind them, the Highlanders will now prepare for their next game in De Pere on Saturday, March 24, and following that, their home opener against Notre Dame De La Baie Academy on Tuesday, March 27.
