Varsity dance team anticipates upcoming season
Returning members and incoming dancers gathered for Homestead’s varsity dance team tryouts on May 30 and 31.
Congratulations to the dancers for the 2019-2020 season: Ally Wang, Maya Kurtin, Ally Chung, Samantha Haller, Anna Greisch, Karly Konik, Christina Zingale, Alanna Devorkin, Bella Huycke, Aliyah Check, Riley Kramer, Jadelyn Burris, Kate Griswold, Rachel Starsky, Zoe David, Claudia Sullivan, Abigail Moertl, Kendall Coburn and incoming freshmen Shannen McGuire, Avery Schlesinger and Lucy Charles.
As summer practices approach, future senior captains look forward to another successful spirit season along with Coach Dani Young and Coach Alex Lafferty. “I’m really looking forward to this season, I feel like we will have such big successes this year and am looking forward to getting started,” Lafferty said. The team practices all throughout summer with smaller shows during Mequon-Thiensville’s Fun Before the Fourth, the Kid’s Pom Pon Clinic and Badgerette’s Pom and Dance Camp.
“Being on the team gave me a great opportunity to meet upperclassmen and participate in something I love,” Claudia Sullivan, freshman, said. Along with these performances, the team continues to practice into the school year and perform at every Homestead varsity home football game until the season ends.
