According to an MTSD newsletter sent to district families, second student resource officer has been hired to serve students and families in Mequon-Thiensville. Officer Jason Moertl has been hired to work alongside Officer Tarie Umhoefer. Officer Moertl is a veteran of the Mequon Police Department and will start working in the district come February, based mostly in the elementary to middle schools and Officer Umhoefer focused mostly on Homestead.
