Visual artists excel

Students in National Art Honor Society (NAHS) create chalk drawings outside of school.

Many students at Homestead find their passions in the 600 wing, taking classes and participating in extracurriculars in the visual art department. Some student artists participate in National Art Honor Society, a club that helps to plan the annual Gallery Night held by the art department to showcase student artwork.

Students are also able to submit their artwork to outside organizations, such as to College Board for review in order to receive college credit as a part of the AP Art curriculum. Other students choose to send their artwork for competition, such as to the Ozaukee County Art Show. This year, four students earned prizes for their artwork. Zach Miller and Jadealyse Helt-Smith, seniors as well as Angela Vang and Meredith Niedfeldt, sophomores all won prizes for their creations.
