“My proudest moment as a teacher typically comes long after students have graduated. I’ll see students and hear about the impact music has had on their lives. Just seeing my former students grow into productive and important members of society who are contributing so much good to the world is when I’m most proud to be a teacher.”
“I miss Alaska a lot, and there are a lot of things I miss about it. I miss my students there; they were wonderful. I miss the friends I made there and the beauty of living in Southeast Alaska…there are also a lot of things I don’t miss though. I think that goes for anywhere. There’s no such thing as a perfect place.”
