“During my sophomore year I experienced a dance injury that impacted my mindset, making me believe that I would never be able to dance the same again. What ultimately defeated me was that my injury was misdiagnosed at first as a sprain. Walking with the pain every single day, I knew that I was dealing with something more serious. After some time, I decided to go and see a new doctor who was able to correctly diagnose it. This experience made me realize the importance of not taking anything for granted. I knew how it felt to feel defeat, and since then, I want to appreciate the good things when they happen.” Jordan Schumacher, Senior
