Through a series of team-building activities, the cast of Pirates of Penzance has fostered growth both on and off the stage, developing lasting friendships and a deeper sense of collaboration as they work together toward their performance.
While preparing for opening night of the play, Aidan Bigonia, junior, shares how the inspiration he gains from others helps him cultivate relationships.
“Through theater not only have I learned valuable lessons but I also have gotten to experience sharing creativity that flows betweens others which helps create deep and meaningful friendships,” Bigonia said.
Actors such as Bigonia illustrate the importance that creativity has on forming relationships with his fellow actors.
Once moving further into rehearsals, Brandon Day, senior, comments on the special autosphere that makes being a part of theater so special which has grown throughout the weeks of play practice.
“The environment in theater builds friendships,” Day said.
“In this space the friendships that you make are so memorable and they mean so much to me,” Day added.
Many students feel that it is important to recognize just how impactful these friendships can be.
Emme Buesing, senior, shares how appreciative she is for this community.
“Theatre has created such a positive environment with incredible people. I have met some of my best friends through this experiment and I am forever grateful,” Buesing said.
Many actors such as Heidi Mansfield, junior, believe that spending time in the spotlight standing alongside your best friends makes all the hard work worthwhile.
“Theater is such an amazing community of people to be a part of. At first I was hesitant to join, but all of the friends and all the new friendships that I have made along the way have made every moment on the stage worth it,” Mansfield said.
