Emmy Sehnert, senior, had a close relationship with family and gymnastics growing up. Born in Colorado but raised in Mequon from a young age, Sehnert’s goal was always “to go to the Olympics for gymnastics.” With her mom by her side the whole way, always supporting her, she never gave up on that goal. Until Sehnert turned 11 and realized that she did not want to do gymnastics anymore because of the mental and emotional toll of being a gymnast. Sehnert now remembered her late childhood and shared that quitting gymnastics was her biggest regret. Sehnert shared that she still thinks about that hard decision to this day.
