Lydia Names, senior, has clearly imagined her future in detail. When asked about her plan once she graduates from college, she said, “So for college, I want to go into speech pathology.” Then when asked what her plan would be for after college, she said, “You know, get married, have a lot of kids, have five kids….I want to have four and adopt one. I want it to go boy, girl, boy, girl. That way, the daughter always has a brother who will look after her, and the last one, I don’t really care.” Somewhere in the future, it will be likely to see Names in the Midwest, hopefully with five kids, married, and thriving as a successful speech pathologist.
