Emma Braatz, a sophomore at Homestead, would be willing to give up watching TV. When asked if she would rather never listen to music again or never watch TV again, Braatz had no hesitation in her answer. She would rather have music than watch TV. In an interview with the sophomore, she explains how music makes her feel. To her, music is a sense of happiness no matter what is going on around her. Music is her escape from reality. Braatz says, “Music makes me genuinely feel calm and a sense of happiness.” She also states, “There are just so many different types of music; it never gets boring.” Whether it’s on the ice playing hockey or sitting in the classroom, music is her escape and where she finds happiness.
