Let the battle begin: Capture the flag
A new event is coming to Homestead on Sunday, March 1, 2015. Student Council presents Capture the Flag in the hallways of Homestead. After months of planning, Student Council started placing hints about this secret event via video announcements and officially announced the event on Jan. 30, 2015.
Matt Gresham, junior and executive Student Council board member, said, “This idea has been worked on for a few months, but it has been road-blocked several times due to the numerous other events going on at Homestead. We do our best to find a date on the calendar that is blank, but in a place as busy as Homestead, that’s not very easy to find.”
Student Council has worked hard to create a set of rules in order to create a fun and safe event. Grishma Reddy, senior and executive Student Council board member, said, “[The rules] are not too strict. We want to ensure everyone can participate and that everyone will have a chance to play.”
Sign-up for capture the flag begins Feb. 4 during both lunch hours and continues through Feb. 12, according to Twinkle Dutta, senior and executive Student Council board member. The cost of this event is $3, and teams will be arranged based on grade level.
