The Homestead varsity boys basketball conference season came to a close last Thursday, Feb. 26 as the team fell short to Whitefish Bay 66-60. The team ended the overall season with a 13-9 record and now they prepare to take on Sussex-Hamilton in the first round of playoffs this upcoming Friday, March 6.

Sussex-Hamilton is currently seeded seventh in the regional while Homestead secured the number two seed, behind number one, Germantown. “We lost to Sussex Hamilton 57-47 last year, so we are looking for revenge this year,” Jacob Urban, junior, said.

“So far we have had a decent season, but we have lost a few close games. We have started to focus on the little things and make sure we execute, so we can make a deep run in the playoffs this year,” Jack Popp, junior, said.

Come watch the boys take on Sussex-Hamilton at 7 p.m. in the Homestead Field House. The winner of the game will take on either Arrowhead or Menomonee Falls at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 7 at Homestead High School in the second round of the playoffs.
