Homestead, Germantown rivalry ends in victory
The Homestead varsity football team clobbered Germantown with a 21-3 victory on Friday, Sept. 9.
This bittersweet win ended an infamous and longstanding rivalry, due to next year’s conference realignment. According to Homestead Athletic Director Erich Hinterstocker, after this year, “both Germantown and Milwaukee Lutheran will be moving out of our conference.” To compensate for this loss, the conference will be adding West Bend East, West Bend West, Hartford and Slinger.
“It’s disappointing, we really appreciate the rivalry we have with Germantown and we’re sad to see it come to an end,” Coach Dave Keel said.
