Girls cross competes at Eagle Invitational
The girls jv and varsity cross country teams raced at the Eagle Invitational meet on the UW-Parkside course in Kenosha this past Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016.
Homestead placed eighth out of fifteen teams. Natalie Gauss, sophomore, and top jv runner, finished seventeenth out of 284 girls in the 5K. Allie Levin, senior, took ninth place in the varsity 5K with an astonishing time of nineteen minutes and thirty-nine seconds, holding a very impressive pace of six minutes and nineteen seconds per mile. Kimmy Hartlieb, sophomore, and Thais Marques, sophomore, finished close behind.
“That was a fantastic meet I’ll always remember,” Grace Baden, sophomore, said.
