Girls varsity golf places first in sectionals, heading to state
It has been said that practice is the key to winning. The Homestead girls varsity golf team practices nearly every day for hours with dedication and a true love for the sport. On Tuesday Oct. 4, Homestead competed in sectionals located at the Mee-Kwon golf course against eight other teams and won first place. “We all played our hearts out at sectionals and it paid off in the end,” Isabelle Malecki, junior, said.
The next stop for the girls golf team is state on Monday Oct. 10 at University Ridge Golf Course. “I just want us to have fun and have positive vibes. I want us to play well and just enjoy,” Trinidy Pate, junior, said.
The girls look forwards to competing in the state tournament against other teams. Hallie Kent, junior, said, “It’s definitely one to remember.”
