Classes cancelled after security threat
At 12:24 p.m., all staff members and students of Homestead High School were asked to evacuate school immediately due to a security threat.
According to a letter sent home to parents, “local law enforcement officials are conducting an investigation of the threat, including a thorough search of the building.” Due to the length of time required to complete the search, all classes are cancelled for the rest of the day and there will be no after-school activities.
The school assured parents that they “take all threats seriously,” and will communicate more information “upon completion of the assessment and investigation by law enforcement officials.”
More information will be published as it becomes available.
