Lady Highlanders swim to sectionals
On Saturday, Nov. 1, the girls varsity swim team placed fifth in the conference meet at Nicolet High School, with numerous individual successes as well. Rachel Paulmann, senior and captain, placed 13th in the 500-meter freestyle, Christianna Gess, junior, placed ninth in the 100 meter backstroke and Elizabeth Huskin, junior, placed eighth in the 200-meter freestyle. In addition, both the 400 meter freestyle relay team and the 200-meter medley team placed fifth in their respective events. However, the team missed Talia Gottlieb, sophomore, who could not swim due to her brother’s bar mitzvah ceremony. “Everyone was getting season best times, but we were missing Talia sadly,” Megan Churchill, senior, said. Cedarburg won the conference meet, and the Highlanders “are looking forward to sectionals this Saturday,” Churchill noted.
