“I’ve always been dead set on playing college baseball,” Grant Poindexter, senior, said. Going into the summer before his senior year, Poindexter had not received very many looks from colleges. “I put a lot of pressure and stress on myself to make sure that I could get recruited and do what I wanted to do with my life.” With this, Poindexter explained that he regrets putting so much worry into being recruited for college baseball because he “wasn’t able to appreciate” his final summer baseball season. “I let my mind get consumed with the thought of failure. Even thinking about it all the time, I never really had another plan for what I might do if it didn’t work out,” Poindexter said. In the end, it did work out for Poindexter as he is committed to play Division II baseball for Cedarville University next year.
