Mr. Orlando Frets, commonly known as Señor in the classroom, has unique plans for occupying his time this summer. Frets wishes to hyperaccentuate on tranquility, frequently known in Spanish as Pura Vida.
From the middle of June to Aug., Frets’s version of summer is centered around family, friends, travel, and personal hobbies that allow him to live a stress-free lifestyle.
Frets provides more depth on what this summer would feel like.
“I’m looking forward to actually relaxing and enjoying some of the outdoors. It seems like it’s gonna be a nice, warm summer, so just being outside.”
Additionally, Frets anticipates what this stress-free lifestyle would look like on a day-to-day basis.
“I like to go paddleboarding, so basically every morning, because I live close to the river, really close to it. I’ll go for at least an hour, if not more since I find it really nice. I also always do work, like some schoolwork stuff, but also getting my yard all cleaned up; however, that’s a constant process, though overall, nothing totally out of the ordinary to fill up my day-to-day life.”
With respect to the Pura Vida lifestyle, Frets plans to travel to Guatemala to experience not only serenity and the UV, but also for the scenery.
“I plan to go to the city of Antigua, Guatemala, sometime around July. And from there, I plan to see an active volcano. I believe it is called the Volcán Fuego. And I also plan to see Lake Atitlan since it’s in Antigua as well, and hopefully I can paddleboard there… I think that I will be there for about a week.”
Frets also plans to stop by Florida for a beach trip.
“I’m going to Key West just to hang out with the sun in the southernmost point of the United States. 90 miles away from Cuba.”
Overall, Frets believes that summer should be spent doing the things that one cherishes the most.
“I don’t have anything really that I must do, like X or Y. Just relax and chill,” Frets said.
