Ten films that make 2015 the best movie year yet

The new year is here, so forget 2014; it’s history. Look towards the new year because 2015 could be the biggest movie year ever. Take a look at what’s coming ahead in movies for 2015.

 

Pitch Perfect 2:

Who didn’t love the original Pitch Perfect? Well, the Barden Bellas are back! In this comedy, the Barden Bellas, a cappella group, enter a national competition that no American team has ever won. This movie even features five Green Bay Packer football players including Clay Matthews. Catch this movie in theaters on May 15, 2015. “I can’t wait to see Pitch Perfect 2 because the Packers are in it,” Allie Haddad, junior, said.

 

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2:

The fourth and final part of the action based Hunger Games film series will be in theaters on Nov. 20, 2015. If you have not seen Mockingjay Part 1, get to the theater because Part 2 claims to be even more action-oriented as Katniss Everdeen and District Thirteen enroll in a massive revolution against the Capitol. “I am looking forward to seeing The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 because I loved part one and I love the series in general,” Emily Polk, sophomore, said.

 

Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens:

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the seventh installment to the saga created by George Lucas in 1983. This science based film will take place after the events of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. This movie will be in theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.

 

Insurgent:

The Divergent Series: Insurgent is the second installment to the Divergent trilogy. This movie features main characters Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James). The movie also features Ansel Elgort, who played Augustus Water in The Fault in Our Stars. Watch as Tris and Four must run from the Erudites through the city of Chicago and discover the mysteries of the past and the future to come. Catch Insurgent in theaters on March 30, 2015.

 

Fifty Shades of Grey:

An upcoming drama film, Fifty Shades of Grey follows the life of literature student Anastasia Steele and businessman Christian Grey. Based off of the book, Steele’s life changes completely as she engages in an affair with handsome billionaire Grey. Come see this movie in theaters on Feb. 13, 2015.

 

Ted 2:

Ted 2 is an upcoming comedy film directed by Seth MacFarlane. It is the sequel to the 2012 hit comedy about a stuffed teddy bear that comes alive. It is scheduled to appear in theaters on June 26, 2015. Watch as Mark Wahlberg and Ted embark on continuous adventures.

 

The Avengers: Age of Ultron:

When Tony Stark starts a dormant peacekeeping program, things end up going horribly wrong and the Avengers are forced to battle the villain Ultron. This movie will be released to theaters on May 1, 2015.

 

Jupiter Ascending:

Jupiter Ascending, coming to theaters on Feb. 6, 2015, features main characters Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis) and Caine (Channing Tatum). Jones was born destined for greatness, but lives her life as an ordinary woman, cleaning toilets and other people’s house as well as encountering several bad breaks. It isn’t until Caine, an engineered hunter, arrives on Earth when Jones realizes the destiny that awaits her.

 

Furious 7:

Arriving in theaters on April 3, 2015, Furious 7, an action thriller film, is the sequel to 2013’s Fast and Furious 6. Delayed until 2015 because of the tragic death of Paul Walker, this movie serves as a tribute to the highly missed star. Watch as main characters Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), Brian O’Connor (Paul Walker) and the rest of the crew come face to face with danger once again as they return to the United States. “With all the action, and how it is a fast paced movie, it is a fun series to watch, so I am excited for this one to come out,” Ethan Ellerbrock, freshman, said.

 

Cinderella:

Coming to theaters on Mar. 13, 2015, Cinderella is a classic fairy tale about a servant step-daughter who lives under her cruel stepmother and stepsisters and wins the heart of a prince.
