USA TODAY‘s Anne D’Innocenzio states that “sales of the iconic blues fell 6 percent during the past year after decades of almost steady growth.”  Why is this?  D’Innocenzio reveals, “People more often are sporting yoga pants, leggings, sweatpants and other athletic wear instead of traditional denim.”  This new trend of “athleisure” wear has taken over the style of millions.

In honor of Levi Strauss’ birthday today, please throw on a pair of jeans.  This wonderful man, born Feb 26, 1829, changed the way people dress across America when he manufactured the first blue jeans 141 years ago in 1873.  Since, Levi’s jeans have graced the legs of millions.  Strauss himself said, “Only [objects] carry the evidence that throughout the centuries something really happened among human beings.”
