Homestead goes mad for March Madness

There is one thing on Homestead students’ minds these days and only one thing they are secretly watching on their phones during class: March Madness. Round one of the NCAA Basketball Tournament kicked off on March 16 and will continue on March 17. In total, 64 teams are competing.

Attending two of these games was Johnny Erpenbeck, senior. “Overall the whole place was nuts and full of people who traveled from all over: from Tennessee, South Carolina, Minnesota, Iowa, Indiana and wherever else,” Erpenbeck said. “The Minnesota vs Middle Tennessee game was one of those games you watch on TV and just wish you were there to see the upset, and I was one of the lucky few who were able to it.”

Though not everyone will get the opportunity to attend a game this year, many are participating in the competition through the ESPN Bracket Challenge. In fact, some have even created class pools, such as Mrs.Jennifer Zortman’s fifth hour Calculus class.

All in all, whoever you’re rooting for, March sure is going to be mad.
