Michael Gebhardt, junior, tries to steal the ball from his opponent at a previous game against Brookfield.

After fighting hard all season long, the boys lacrosse team went up against West Bend at their home turf on Thursday, May 4. The boys beat their opponent, 21-0.

“We needed this one to right the ship and get us back on course. It was all around a well played game offensively and defensively. We executed offense and had 12 assists and 14 different players scored a goal(s),” Coach Mike LaVelle said.

The boys started off strong. By the end of the first half, they were up 13-0.

With some of the goals scored by Cole Tietyen, Owen Robbins, Brady Bartz, Hank McKeegan, Julius Kellner, Partick Shirley, juniors, and Andy Buchanan, Johnny Erpenbeck, Miles Murray, Bobby Crowley and Sam Gianakos, seniors, the boys were able to come out of the night successful.

“The game was good, but it’s just a start to something that needs to carry through for the rest of the season,” Erpenbeck said.

Tietyen, Buchanan and Crowley each helped to contribute to the victory with multiple assists.

“The season has been up and down, but things are looking up for the future,” Jake Westreich, senior, said.
