Milwaukee is a vibrant and modern city; summer in this festive city has the potential to be the best time of the year. Milwaukee shows its true colors through its numerous cultural, artistic and entertainment festivals. The city shows its cultural diversity with several ethnic festivals including Bastille Days in East Town, which celebrates French heritage. In conjunction, Polish, Irish, Italian, Mexican, and German fests are all annual events that exemplify Milwaukee’s diversity. These and other events make Milwaukee the place to be in this summer.

Downtown Milwaukee:

The Lakefront Festival of Art – June 15-17 – The Calatrava is a symbol of Milwaukee. Travel down to the Milwaukee Art Museum to see all sorts.

Summerfest – June 27 – July 1, July 3 – 8 – One of the biggest music festivals in the country, Summerfest is one of the staples of Milwaukee. The stars this year range from Imagine Dragons and Grace Vanderwaal to Logic and J. Cole.

Downtown Milwaukee Fireworks – July 3 – Fireworks over Lake Michigan are a truly spectacular sight. Bring food beforehand or hit up North Point for a burger. This event is a must for summer in Milwaukee.

Milwaukee Air and Water Show – July 21 – 22 – A free and generally extremely hot event, the Milwaukee Air and Water Show is a perfect summer event. Toss the frisbee by the lakefront and hear Blue Angels soar overhead; this event should be on your calendar.

Local:

Our own cities of Mequon and Thiensville are undergoing some impressive changes this summer as well. The Spur 16 development seems as if it will be a very popular site for Mequon residents this late summer and fall. Also this summer, a collection of food trucks will be coming to Thiensville on several dates. The Milwaukee Food Truck Tour will be visiting Thiensville on five Thursdays: July 19, July 26, Aug 9, Aug 16, Aug 23. With entertainment around every corner, this summer will be one to remember.
