The first annual event will help parents recognize the signs of vaping as well as prevention and monitoring techniques.

Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 5 – 8:30 p.m. marks Mequon-Thiensville’s first annual Vaping Awareness Summit in the James Barr Performing Arts Center: “Dare to know: the truth about vaping, Juuling…and your child.”

This event is free of charge for all parents and students grades 6-12 and will address the epidemic that is adolescent nicotine addiction due to the mass popularization of Juul and other vape products.

“Dare to Know” will include a presentation from keynote speaker Dr. Charlene Gaebler-Uhing, MD, MHPE-Board certified Pediatric Adolescent Health Provider from Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin’s Teen Health Clinic. Resources will also be offered from local organizations in the areas of mental health, addiction and recovery, substance use prevention and many more.
