Highlanders win indoor conference title

The boys track team took to the Homestead High School field house on Tuesday, March 24 to win the North Shore Conference indoor title. In a highly competitive meet, the Highlanders came out victorious beating Cedarburg by 41 points. “It was a fantastic conference meet,” Serafino LaGalbo, junior, said, and that is exactly what it was.

Jake Bruner, junior, took fourth in both the 55 meter hurdles and the 200 meter dash. Evan Routhier, junior, took first in the 1600 meter run and third in the 800 meter run. Elijah Triggs, senior, took first in the high jump, finishing off a well-rounded meet for the Highlanders.

Even though the indoor season is short-lived, the team made big steps in getting ready for the outdoor season.

“It was nice to see guys step up, and it helped us build momentum toward the outdoor season.”

“It was good to get a win before the outdoor season,” said LaGalbo. With the success the team had in the indoor season, many runners have high expectations for the whole team the rest of the way.
