Lauren VanVooren, sophomore, is excited to come back for a second year on Homestead’s varsity gymnastics team. Last year, VanVooren and her team qualified for state, giving the freshman (at the time) a good sense of competing at a higher level, but competing during a pandemic is another story. “Many meets were cancelled and it’s quite different wearing masks while competing, but I’m very happy with what we’re still able to do,” VanVooren explains.
